Frequently asked questions

Which rail services are covered?
We show disruptions affecting Inverness and the Highlands – ScotRail and national rail services. This includes the Inverness–Edinburgh/Glasgow line, Kyle line, Far North line, and other Highland routes. For live times and tickets, use ScotRail or National Rail.
Where does rail disruption data come from?
When a rail data source is configured, we aggregate engineering works, weather-related delays, and other incidents. If the connector is disabled, a placeholder message is shown. Always check ScotRail and National Rail for the latest before travelling.
I'm connecting from the train to a tour or chauffeur – what should I do?
If you're arriving by train to Inverness (or another station), we can arrange a pickup and connect you to a day tour or multi-day itinerary. Check this page for disruptions that might affect your arrival time, then see Chauffeur Inverness and Tours to plan.
Are Speyside and Cairngorms rail lines included?
Yes, where disruption data covers those lines. The Highland main line serves the Cairngorms area (e.g. Aviemore); Speyside is more road-focused. We also link to destination guides for Speyside and the Cairngorms for tour ideas.

Plan your Highland trip with a dedicated driver or a guided tour. We run from Inverness to Skye, Speyside, the Cairngorms, and beyond.
