This page is a curated set of key-route traffic cameras for quick checks before you drive in the Highlands, to Skye, or on major corridors like the A9 and A82. We do not embed or hotlink any camera images – only link you to Traffic Scotland’s official camera list and live map.

Compliance note: We do not embed or hotlink camera images. All links take you to Traffic Scotland’s official pages. Camera images are stills, not live video. Some feeds may be unavailable during incidents or maintenance. Update frequency varies – typically around 5 minutes in the Glasgow/Edinburgh area and around 20 minutes on many Highland and rural routes. Frequently asked questions

Why don’t you show camera images on this page?
We do not embed or hotlink camera images. We only link you to Traffic Scotland’s official camera pages so you view images on their site. That keeps us compliant with their terms and ensures you always see the current feed and any notices they publish.
How often do camera images update?
Traffic Scotland’s own update frequency varies. In the Glasgow and Edinburgh areas, stills often refresh around every five minutes; on many Highland and rural routes, updates can be around every 20 minutes or so. Always treat what you see as a snapshot, not real-time video.
What if a camera feed is unavailable?
Feeds can be temporarily offline during incidents, maintenance, or poor conditions. If a camera doesn’t load on Traffic Scotland’s site, check their live map and travel news for the latest, and consider an alternative route or delay if needed.
How do I use the search hint?
Copy the search hint (e.g. “A9 Drumochter”) and paste it into the Quick search on Traffic Scotland’s camera page. That helps you jump to the right camera when the list is long.

Plan your Highland trip with a dedicated driver or a guided tour. We run from Inverness to Skye, Speyside, the Cairngorms, and beyond.
