The Genesis Scottish Open sits on the East Lothian coast at The Renaissance Club, between Gullane and Dirleton. It is a Rolex Series event, co-sanctioned with the PGA TOUR, and in 2027 it falls immediately before The Open at St Andrews. Edinburgh Airport is 40 to 50 minutes away on the A1 and A198. The transfer is straightforward if you know the coast road. It is slow if you do not.
Tickets are already on sale for 7–11 July 2027. The Renaissance Club is on the Archerfield estate, a short run from Gullane, North Berwick and Muirfield. Many guests stay on the coast for this event and then move to Fife for The Open from 11 July.
Transfer plan
- Edinburgh Airport to Greywalls, Marine North Berwick, Archerfield or Edinburgh city hotels.
- Daily hotel-to-course drops timed to tee times, hospitality and gate opening.
- Practice-round days at Muirfield, Gullane or North Berwick West Links if you are playing as well as watching.
- Sunday finish, then a same-evening or Monday morning transfer through to St Andrews for The Open.
- Evening collections from North Berwick and Gullane restaurants.

Local knowledge
- The A198 through Gullane is a village high street, not a dual carriageway. Coach traffic for the Scottish Open stacks up by mid-morning. A private drop at the estate entrance beats joining that queue.
- Muirfield, Gullane Nos 1–3 and North Berwick West Links are all within 15 minutes. If your group is playing as well as watching, we build the tee times around the championship day.
- East Lothian hotels for this week book early, especially Greywalls and Marine North Berwick. Edinburgh is a viable base with a 40-minute run.
- Sunday 11 July 2027 is both the Scottish Open final round and the first day of Open week at St Andrews. If you need to be in Fife that evening, say so when you book.
Who this suits
- PGA TOUR and DP World Tour spectators flying into Edinburgh for one week or two
- Hospitality guests based in North Berwick, Gullane or Edinburgh
- Golfers playing East Lothian in the mornings and watching in the afternoons
- Anyone treating 7–18 July 2027 as one East Coast championship fortnight
Questions
- When is the Genesis Scottish Open 2027?
- 7 to 11 July 2027 at The Renaissance Club in East Lothian. It sits immediately before The Open at St Andrews (11 to 18 July).
- How far is The Renaissance Club from Edinburgh Airport?
- About 40 to 50 minutes via the A1 and the A198. That is in normal traffic. Championship mornings need a buffer.
- Can you cover the Scottish Open and The Open with one vehicle?
- Yes. That is the strongest booking we take for July 2027. East Lothian for the first week, Fife for the second, same chauffeur.
- Where do people stay for the Scottish Open?
- North Berwick, Gullane, Archerfield and Edinburgh. Greywalls is beside Muirfield, a few minutes from The Renaissance Club. We collect from any of them.
