Brora Golf Club is a characterful north-coast links with a wilder, more remote feel than its celebrated neighbours. Designed by James Braid in 1923, the course runs along the Sutherland coast with mountain views to the west and the North Sea to the east. We provide private golf transfers to Brora from Inverness, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Scottish airports, with luxury vehicles, space for clubs, and timing planned around your tee time.
About the course
Brora is famous for two things: outstanding natural links golf and the Highland cattle that graze freely on the course. Electric fences protect the greens, but you will share the fairways with livestock — a uniquely Scottish experience. The course itself is a James Braid masterpiece, running along the coast with firm, undulating fairways, deep pot bunkers, and fast greens that test every aspect of the short game.
At around 6,100 yards, Brora is not long by modern standards, but the exposed coastal position and near-constant wind add significant challenge. The views are spectacular — north to the Sutherland hills, east across the North Sea, and south toward the Moray Firth. The clubhouse is welcoming and unpretentious, the pace is relaxed, and the green fee is remarkably good value for a course of this quality.
