The route from Inverness Airport to Achnagairn Estate
From Inverness Airport we head west on the A96 briefly before turning onto the road towards Kirkhill. The route follows quiet B-roads through rolling farmland, past Kirkhill village, and into the Achnagairn estate grounds. There is no need to go through Inverness city centre, which keeps the journey quick and avoids any congestion.
The whole transfer takes about 25 minutes. The final approach is along a tree-lined estate drive that gives a proper sense of arrival. This is one of the most straightforward airport transfers we do, with minimal time on busy roads.
About Achnagairn Estate
Achnagairn is a 17th-century Highland estate that has been thoughtfully restored as an exclusive-use venue and accommodation. The main house is a category-A listed building with grand public rooms, and the estate also has courtyard cottages and a treehouse for additional guests. It is popular for weddings, celebrations, and group stays. Beauly is five minutes away with a good selection of shops and restaurants, and both Loch Ness and the Speyside whisky trail are within easy day-trip distance.

Local tips from our drivers
The turning off the Kirkhill road is easy to miss if you do not know it. We have done this route many times and know the approach well. Beauly is a useful stop for guests wanting to pick up supplies, and the Beauly Priory is worth a quick look. Glen Ord distillery is about 10 minutes west and is one of the quieter Speyside-edge distilleries, rarely crowded even in summer. For evening dining, the Achnagairn restaurant is excellent, but Beauly also has the Corner on the Square and Lovat Hotel as good options.
